# Update Warehouse Connection

> Rename, change settings or rotate credentials

Updates a connection. `config` is merged with the saved settings. Settings and credential changes run a new test query before saving; if it fails, nothing changes. Requires `warehouse:write`.

<ParamField body="name" type="string" />

<ParamField body="config" type="object">Settings to change, for example `{ "port": 6543 }`.</ParamField>
<ParamField body="credentials" type="object">Replacement credentials. Omit to keep the stored ones.</ParamField>
