# Delete Geofence

> Remove a geofence

Deletes a geofence. Apps stop watching it after their next refresh, and transitions they still report for it are rejected. Past visits stay in contact history and segments. To stop it temporarily, [update](https://docs.sequenzy.com/api-reference/geofences/update.md) it with `"active": false` instead. Requires the `geofences:delete` scope.

**id** `string` *required*

Geofence ID.

```bash theme={null}
curl -X DELETE "https://api.sequenzy.com/api/v1/geofences/geo_123" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SEQUENZY_API_KEY"
```

## Response

**deleted** `boolean`

Always `true`.

**id** `string`

The deleted geofence ID.
